| mostly in the ground and in as many buckets i can find and i will line them up in rows outside the ones i have in buckets are outside in the shade for now |

Looks like flea beetles got to that little guy. The other plants look great though. You might really want to consider milk jugs or something like them. At least till they get a little bigger and have some heft. I leave the jugs on till they coat the whole inside of the jug. I let them get all cramped up in there. When I finally ease the jug off I can almost hear them say “ahhhhhhhhh thank you Dan”
I put milk crates or wire cages on some of them after I take the jugs off. I’ll keep them caged until they get big and broad leafed. Then they’re ready to take on any animal or insect pest that comes along. Well almost any but at least they have a fighting chance when they are big and hefty.
Here’s what they look like after they’ve outgrown the jugs and cages. Some that I planted late are still under jugs and cages.
The three plants in the second picture are the ones that I transplanted earlier this season. There's a before and after shot.
